I love Snowy Owls, we have lots around here too. It makes me confused how they come down here for winter to warmer temps, lol.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! How lucky.
ReplyDeleteHe is so majestic!
ReplyDeleteThey just had a piece on NPR about snowy owls. It seems that when food is abundant, mama owls will have more young and that happened this year. So, there are a greater number of young snowy owls that have migrated. They are struggling a bit as they don't know about humans, cars, power lines, etc.
The script of the piece is at:

Beautiful! We actually spotted one last week ourselves, but I didn't get my camera out in time. :( So glad you did! Great pictures! :D
ReplyDeleteOH! Awesome shot!
ReplyDeleteEarly morning? or Late night?
You can see lots of owls in my area if you commute at ungodly hours like I do. They are almost always sitting on telephone poles, road signs or perched on top of big barns. You just have to know where to look and want to see them. It's amazing how many people commute during that time and NEVER see them.
That's a real score of shot.
This is my favorite owl. There is supposed to be an injured one near our place but I haven't seen it yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
How cool!
