  1. oh how beautiful! that appy looks like an arab when he poses, you know, the workman-like arab. i enlarged the photo so it filled my screen and relaxed my eyes to take in his form.

i love his two tone tail, and the length too. i have something for hock-length tails - i think they look like baby tails and the horse looks younger with such a tail. of course it has to be thick and "fluffy" for that to work. that appy's got it: )

  2. Nice photos! I sometimes forget that your guy has almost the same colours as Rusty.

That is a nice looking herd - quite a good range of colours - red roan, palomino, grey, black and a sorrel (chestnut??)

  7. The sorrel and black are Kimfer's dad's horses. Both are TWH geldings and the sorrel is a MAJOR bully. Part of the reason I'm waiting until spring to buy a new horse.
The grey filly and the palomino gelding are Kimfer's (QH's) although *technically* the gelding is actually Kimfer's dad's.
Then of course there is our Appy. Not pictured is Cessa who wisely kept her old butt out of the way. lol

  8. Lytha - he does have kinda an Arab look doesn't he? His tail is actually quite a bit below his hock, I think the combo of the breeze and his holding it make it look shorter. But he does have a pretty, long and thick tail which I am grateful for. I feel so bad for those Appies with the broomstick tail. God gave horses tails for a reason!

  11. Hah, I was gonna say, where is the snow? but then I read that this was back in the fall:-p You must be dreaming of warmer times. Apple Jack looks like he's having a blast out there! Where does he fall in the herd ranks?

  13. Denise - Applejack falls into the middle. He's not low man in the group, that is Cessa although it didn't start that way - I think that's age related!
But that sorrel and that black are the two herd leaders.
