My Valentine

Pie & I didn't really get to celebrate Valentine's Day... owning/working in a restaurant you pretty much give up celebrating most holidays to be there for the people that do get to go out to celebrate.
And this year we decided against any big gifts, I got Pie a box of his favourite chocolates (for an occasional treat, he is diabetic so he can't go crazy with them) and a card and he got me a card and flowers... NO roses!  Instead he got my favourites, various daisies and the like :)
I am a very lucky girl to have a guy like Pie.  He's gone from being a total city boy, never had a pet (his parents aren't "pet people") to moving out to the country and having 16 critters!  He's never been a nag about any money/time spent on the animals.  He helps with the heavy lifting even though the horses are really "my thing", although he does hop on occasionally.

  1. Happy Valentine's day to you, Pie and all the critters!

I like those two pics of Pie - he looks good on a horse... Although, at first glance, I was wondering how you got a picture of Pie on Rusty! lol. He and Applejack look so similar!

  2. We went out on Saturday to a Valentines dance, that was our celebration. It's been a long time since we went dancing, so it was a real treat. My husband, like Pie, isn't into horses as much as I am, but he does support me by doing such sweet things as spending 3 days traveling to go and get Gussie for me. Bless our husbands!

  3. Hooray for all of the hubbies who support us in our maternal need to nurture critters! They truly are our Valentines!
Hooray for Pie for becoming a 'farm boy'! What a good sport he must be.

  6. This is a wonderful post and I realized from your comment/this post how very similar our lives are in so many ways.

I do hope that my man turns into a farm boy at some point. He was dead set against having a cat, even, but once we got her, he fell in love. I hope we can add more animals in the future.
