I bought my son a pet rabbit 

after he promised he'd take care of it.

As I expected, 

I ended up with the responsibility. 

Exasperated, I said, 

"How many times 

do you think that rabbit 

would have died

 if I hadn't looked after it!"

My son replied, 

"Only the once."
