Posting by Blackberry

Not something I wanted to do. And not sure if it will work. But I have to tell you guys about what happened tonight!

I went to bring Cessa & Voodoo in from the pasture but when I got to the gate I couldn't see them anywhere. I whistled for them hoping to see a dark head pop up.
Nothing.
Thoughts chased each other through my mind 'did they get out?' 'I hope not, its getting dark' 'Oh maybe they're in the one little row of trees by the neighbours field?'. In the spit second it took to realize that they were, hopefully, between the trees & the neighbours fence I whistled a second time.
I heard them before I saw them... thundering hooves. And as I watched the trees I saw them come.
Voodoo in the lead, running flat out, with Cessa loping casually behind.
I held my ground by the gate and he ran to less than 50 feet from me where he slowed to a trot and then stopped dead in front of me and lowered his head.
Now he's come when I whistled before but never when he couldn't see me. And never quite like this.
It gave me chills I tell ya!

ps - really hoping I have internet hooked up soon!

  1. Ooooh! How cool is THAT?! I bet it took all your courage to stand still in place with the sound of thundering hooves racing towards you, too.
Good for you holding your ground, though. What a thrill!

Hurry up and get settled. I can't wait to read an update...with photos, too! Please?!
