That is fabulous!! Also, congrats on the 200th, and the rain...

Now, to answer the question:

I ride a Tennessee Walking Horse mare -- Western style, trail riding only. We (my husband and I) ride FAST most of the time...I know we have a dangerous lifestyle, but horses love to run and are built to run. We have friends who never break a trot, which I just cannot understand. We started riding late in life compared to most horse people (in our 40's). I love horse ownership -- and not just the riding -- the caring for them, getting to know them, the smells, the feel...everything!!

Secretly, I would love to try barrel racing!!!John and Regina Zdravichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03750649450237309246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-38693378549425762922009-07-21T08:44:48.492-06:002009-07-21T08:44:48.492-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.John and Regina Zdravichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03750649450237309246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-66431986879954919792009-07-21T07:59:13.732-06:002009-07-21T07:59:13.732-06:00Neat book! Well...Neat book! I think would come in very handy!

Well I western ride. When I can. I am a novice. 52 years old, and able to finally own my own horse 3 years ago! A dream come true for me.

I am not as young as I use to be. Mortality sets in at 40 so it is not like I Hop on and Hop off a horse these days. I am taking it slow, and working with a trainer, and learning how to ride.

My goal is to be able to ride my horse along the Columbia River that has some awesome horse trails. I have not go to do it yet, and I am hoping that this year will be the year I get to ride along that river.

I keep telling myself that Patience is a virtue and that I will be rewarded.

Yes Western riding with my dream horse that is like sitting on a cloud, she is so smooth.

Since she is lazy, I think we are a perfect match cause a "walk in the park" is my goal.mrscravitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06734008259700267954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-19761621579839529572009-07-20T22:02:24.996-06:002009-07-20T22:02:24.996-06:00Hi Im so glad Pie is getting better, its sure been...Hi Im so glad Pie is getting better, its sure been a long time!
I ride western, mostly on the ranch, but occasionally take in a show or a week trail ride.Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18035210092855895218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-12532285900336566552009-07-20T00:06:34.253-06:002009-07-20T00:06:34.253-06:00Woohoo about Pie!!! I bet he is so excited to be home too!
Congrats on your 200th post! That is very exciting!!
Ok, as you know, I do ride, I ride western and mostly trail ride, with some training in between. I have just recently slipped an english saddle on one of my horses for the first time though! First time for the horse, not me! But it has been a long time since I have ridden english, like 18 years!Paint Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05095673661149903754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-54281700345856066872009-07-18T21:25:36.665-06:002009-07-18T21:25:36.665-06:00Thank goodness Pie is on the mend! I make it "extreme" by being an anxious rider with many phobias: bears, slipping in mud, getting lost, being shot by a drunk hunter, being struck by lightning, I could go on and on and I usually do. I'm stopping now because I am starting to hyperventilate just thinking about it. My horse John is as steady as any horse I have ever known or heard of, and he thinks I am humorous in my little panic attacks. Thank goodness. Between the 2 of us, he is the adult. That's my story. :)Flying Lilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04652273828990723024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8071043294700974116.post-46426090363720940472009-07-18T18:52:36.584-06:002009-07-18T18:52:36.584-06:00YAY!!
